Krásných podzimních dnů se děti ze čtvrtých tříd na Zlaté stezce rozhodly využít k jedné z vycházek, uskutečněné tentokráte poslední zářijový den mimo Prachatice.
Žáci vlakem dojeli do Zbytin, kde začíná známá Matýskova stezka. Tam si také vyzvedli listiny s plánkem a popisem, které je celou stezkou provázely.
Cestou děti potkávaly kouzelné bytosti se známými staročeskými jmény – vodnička Karlička, bylinkářka Johana, ale také s názvy někdy i trochu exoticky znějícími a zvukomalebnými – Gabreta, Černobog. Postrašit se všechny snažila čarodějnice či skřeti kožíšci, naopak pomoc nabízeli dobří skřítci a Modrá víla.
Matýska po stezce kromě kouzel vede i poutavý příběh, který dětem dodává energii, chuť i radost vedoucí je k cíli. Cestu také zpestřila možnost potkat na jednotlivých stanovištích sochy ze dřeva i skla a posléze také možnost otisknout si do průvodního listu razítka s podobou osob z jednotlivých setkání.
Zajímavé byly i informace o zeměpisných a historických souvislostech týkajících se okolí Zbytin, opět dovedně literárně spojené s pověstí o čertech.
Ačkoliv celou cestu čtvrťáci drželi palce Matýskovi proti čaroději Černobogovi, na samý závěr putování se ukázalo, že jeho hněv na lidské pokolení je vlastně oprávněný. Černobog se na lidi zlobil především kvůli jejich nešetrnému chování k lesům i přírodě a poněkud pak upravil špatný dojem, který si o něm poutníci na začátku předčasně udělali.
Tak děti ze čtvrtých tříd jednak poznali kamaráda Matýska a jeho strastiplnou cestu lesem, ale nenápadně je stezka také přivedla k zamyšlení nad vztahem člověka a přírody v pohádkových i skutečných souvislostech. Čtvrťáci zároveň předem oslavili zajímavým způsobem podzimní svátek stromů, který se bude slavit koncem října.
